Sarah Sisk

Sarah Sisk is a fourth year Bachelor of Science student at the UCLA School of Nursing. Her dream of becoming a pediatric nurse was inspired by a nurse that she had while she spent some time as a patient almost ten years ago. Sarah witnessed the loving nature of the nurses that took care of her and knew that one day she too could do this for another child in need of healing hands.
As President of Nursing Students at UCLA, Sarah hopes to do all that she can to positively represent the nursing profession and give back to those in need. Sarah is an active member of the American Cancer Society and for the past two years has led a committee of college students dedicated to helping those both currently fighting cancer and those in their survivorship. For the past two years she has organized monthly hospital visits to the adult oncology ward at the UCLA Ronald Reagan Medical Center as well as led bone marrow drives on campus, a survivor BBQ, and was a member of the planning committee for an event at Ronald Reagan that celebrates all of their cancer survivors and those currently fighting. A large portion of her time goes into planning the survivor events at UCLA’s Relay for Life. Las year Sarah’s committee was awarded a National Title from the American Cancer Society in recognition of all of the hard work her and her committee have performed. Sarah also participates in research with a UCLA Professor who is studying pain management in pediatric oncology patients.
As a first generation college student, Sarah is excited to be graduating with her college degree this June. After graduation she hopes to obtain a job on a pediatric floor. Eventually, she would like to return to school to obtain her Master’s Degree and become a Nurse Practitioner.
