Claire Herbert

2010 Undergraduate Scholarship Recipient
University of California | School of Nursing

Claire is from Daly City, California. Prior to entering the UCLA School of Nursing, she worked as a teacher’s assistant. She also served as a team member for the Asian Students’ Coalition Chinese Dragon Boat Race Team.

Claire’s experiences working for the Adult Health Center for St. Anthony’s Tenderloin District (similar to that of Los Angeles’s Skid Row) helped solidify her desire to become a nurse. After having a heartfelt conversation with one of the elderly women at the Center, Claire realized that her passion lies in making people comfortable and in listening to and helping to fulfill their needs.

A fourth-year undergraduate student at the UCLA School of Nursing, Claire maintains a 3.46 GPA. She and Samantha are honored to be the recipients of this year’s Bonnie AC Lee Fang Memorial Scholarship.
